A new chapter: Instal US

Following the acquisition of MOBave at the end of September, we fully started US operations with our first office in New York City. Actually, our US chapter started a couple of months ago.

In December 2016, indeed, we have been selected to participate to the GBX (Global Business Exchange) Program (https://gbx.nyc/), an exclusive acceleration program based in New York. The program was held by NYCECD (https://www.nycedc.com/), New York City Economic Development Corporation, focusing on fueling New York’s economic growth, in partnership with VentureOut, one of the main NY’s startups accelerator.

VentureOut, founded in 2012  by Brian Frumberg, entrepreneur and proud supporter of the New York City’s vibrant technology community, speaker, mentor and member of the FWD.us Innovation Council, aims at supporting top technology companies from around the world on their mission to access US market, raise capital, and scale.

NYCEDC GBX Milan has been a 6 months incubator program for technological startups. The program, on one side,  aimed at linking NY-based startups with Italian startups’ environment, while on the other side to attract first-rate business and talent to the City, unlocking potential business and growth opportunities. The exchange included, among other services, up to 6 months of free office space, networking opportunities, logistical support and exposure to NY’s business environment.

Instal has been hosted in NY Media Center, a collaborative workspace and community designed to support media and tech entrepreneurs and  innovators, located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The area is an important tech hub and has a high concentration of tech firms. Many companies, like the e-commerce retailer Etsy, have their headquarters here, and it has been compared to the Manhattan’s Silicon Alley, the area encompassing the City metropolitan region’s high tech industries. In such a context we had the opportunity to experience innovation, technology, networking as well as learning the latest and future trends in the US mobile marketing landscape.

We also participated in numerous meetings organized by VentureOut, and we had the chance to exchange knowledge and point of views with Brian and many others entrepreneurs of the New York Ad Tech scenario.

Being in NY for a while helped us to strengthen our partnership with MOBave and to recognize how many synergies we would have been able to create by deepening our partnership with them. That’s why eventually we decided to buy the majority of the company.

Acquiring MOBave has been just the beginning of our journey in the US, so stay tuned for some exciting upcoming news! In the meantime, come to meet us at the NY Ad Tech Conference on November 1st and 2nd, Metropolitan Pavilion, NY City. See you there!
